Meet Savi, a driven and ambitious professional who got accepted into Harvard, Wharton, Booth, and Columbia.
Growing up across Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, Savi’s childhood experiences profoundly shaped her personality by exposing her to diverse cultures, lifestyle and challenges. These experiences also made her versatile, adaptable resilient, positioning her well to thrive in varied environments.
From a young age, Savi was immersed in a family environment where education was highly valued, which shaped her passion for learning and growth. With a mother who beautifully balanced teaching with social work, Savi developed a deep sense of community and a desire to give back.
Her academic focus propelled her to perform well in high school and gain a much-coveted seat in St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi’s Economics program. Her interest in debating led her to join the Debating Club and eventually take on the role of Vice President in the Club. Additionally, actively participating in case study competitions, made her discover consulting as a career.
Realizing that it would be an exciting path to pursue post-graduation, she joined Kearney, a leading consulting firm, upon graduation. However, due to the global pandemic, her consulting experience was rather unconventional, with most of the work happening online. After about a year, she accidentally stumbled upon investing and ended up joining the Private Equity team at GIC, the Singapore Sovereign Wealth Fund.
For the next three years, Savi worked in a team that formulated growth-stage tech investments across India, China, and the United States. Based out of GIC’s Mumbai office, she was able to develop a unique perspective on the fast-growing tech ecosystem while managing investments that would have long-term implications in the global markets.
It was during this time that Savi met a friend who was pursuing her MBA at Harvard Business School. Inspired by her friend’s holistic development and the opportunities the program offered, Savi decided that she, too, wanted to pursue an MBA abroad to get international exposure. She began researching programs and quickly realized that she needed support in articulating her unique story. Diving deeper into AG’s approach, she found a fit with our personalized approach and decided to reach out to us.
Working with Rajdeep, she immersed herself into her experiences thus far and brainstormed on her goals on multiple levels to build a solid story. According to Savi, Rajdeep had a knack for identifying pivotal moments and transformational experiences in her life. “There were many instances where I didn’t realize how much something—an experience or a person—had affected me, but he would pick up on it,” Savi shared. Through Rajdeep’s guidance, Savi crafted an application that highlighted her unique blend of experience in FinTech and investing while demonstrating her vision for leveraging these skills to drive innovation in the financial sector.
Savi’s committed efforts helped her get offers from Harvard Business School, The Wharton School, Booth School of Business, and Columbia Business School. After carefully evaluating her options, she finally decided to go to HBS because of its strong, academically rigorous environment and the possibility of learning extensively from her peers from diverse backgrounds at the school.
