Briti’s journey began in Kolkata, where she was born into a family that valued arts, education, and tradition. This meant that she was always encouraged to excel academically while also immersing herself in arts and literature. That sowed the seeds for her love for science and mathematics, as well as singing, dancing, and literature. Although she lived in the city briefly, her love for music, literature, and community engagement continues to be a constant part of her life.
As a young girl, Briti grew up moving across cities. The fast-paced life of Delhi taught her adaptability and resilience, and later, after relocating to Bangalore, she found herself in a city buzzing with innovation and entrepreneurship. Bangalore’s tech-driven environment and her family’s emphasis on academic excellence drove Briti’s early interest in STEM fields.
Briti decided to pursue engineering for her undergraduate education and got accepted to IIT Madras. Although she did well in academics, it was her involvement in the campus’s vibrant cultural life that truly defined her college years.
She became an active member of the Dramatics Club, performing and coordinating plays while also exploring her self-taught skills as a dancer. Some of her cherished memories were singing competitions and artistic collaborations during IIT’s cultural fest, Saarang. These experiences cultivated her leadership and organizational skills, where she learned to manage teams, meet deadlines, and inspire peers.
During college, she also developed a growing interest in using her skills to make a meaningful impact. She realized that engineering was not just a technical discipline but also a tool to solve real-world problems.
After graduating, Briti joined BCG in Bangalore, specializing in social impact and healthcare consulting. She worked on designing education programs in collaboration with multilateral agencies, as well as policies for gig workers. At BCG, she was also introduced to the healthcare sector, and eventually, she developed a fascination for the complexities of pharmaceuticals and patient care.
This interest deepened when she joined Abbott, where she worked in the MD’s strategy office. Here, she tackled ambitious projects such as restructuring business units and expanding healthcare access in rural India. However, her work at Abbott revealed gaps in her business knowledge, particularly in areas like marketing and finance, along with the value of global exposure. Encouraged by mentors and colleagues, she decided to apply to top programs that could equip her with the skills and network to scale her impact.
Working with Rajdeep from Admissions Gateway, Briti carefully crafted her narrative, highlighting her cultural roots, professional milestones, and personal passions. Rajdeep’s guidance helped her curate these elements into a cohesive story that appealed to admissions committees.
Applying to five schools—Harvard, Wharton, Kellogg, Booth, and Yale—Briti got accepted to all of them with a $300,000 combined scholarship, an achievement she describes as humbling. During our conversation, she also shared, “Choosing HBS was easy; its global reputation, robust network, and commitment to leadership development aligned well with my goals.”
At HBS, Briti has continued to blend academic pursuits with her love for cultural expression. Whether performing in HBS’s multicultural events or engaging in deep discussions with peers from all over the world, she has embraced every aspect of the experience.
Right now, she is also working with us as an MBA Admissions Consultant, helping folks who are early in their journey follow her footsteps and create an authentic MBA application narrative that helps them make it to top business schools.
