Anjali grew up in Karnal, Haryana, in a conservative business family. Becoming the first woman in her family to pursue and build a successful career, she broke the traditional barriers, creating a path for other women to follow suit.
She grew up learning the values of hard work and resilience. Aiming beyond the family’s business-oriented mindset, she sought to build a career that combined innovation, global exposure, and personal impact.
Anjali pursued her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at NSIT Delhi. As President of the Algorithm Society, she led initiatives to guide junior students, helping them hone programming skills and build career opportunities. Being a part of the Executive Board of Women in Tech, she encouraged and supported ambitious women to build a stronger footing to become leaders in tech.
Under her leadership, the society became a buzzing hub of innovation and mentorship, reflecting her drive towards growth and community. During her second year, she secured an internship at Google’s Mountain View headquarters. There, she was exposed to global talent and cutting-edge technology and realized the value of international education and experience.
After graduating, Anjali joined Google as a software engineer in 2021. Her work on the Google Workspace Admin Dashboard—a critical platform for large organizations—was both technically demanding and strategically impactful.
She collaborated with clients ranging from European governments to Fortune 500 companies, curating solutions for enterprises with thousands of employees. A defining project involved convincing Google leadership to adopt an innovative approach that significantly improved user experience. This not only required technical expertise but also strategic communication, showcasing her ability to bridge the gap between the two.
Anjali’s dream of pursuing an MBA originated during her internship at Google, where she explored Silicon Valley’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and visited Stanford GSB’s campus. Recognizing the importance of global exposure and a strong business foundation, she initially planned to apply after gaining four years of work experience. However, her strong GMAT score encouraged her to apply earlier.
With just 20 days to application deadlines and relatively limited work experience, there were daunting hurdles. While most consultants wouldn’t undertake such a risky endeavor, Mudit showed confidence in her potential. He paired her with Sarthak, an AG Consultant who worked tirelessly with her to make a compelling application. Anjali says, “I have literally reached out to Sarthak in the middle of the night, and he responded to me before I woke up the next morning with the feedback and edits.”
Their collaboration turned a seemingly impossible timeline into a success story. Anjali received admits from Kellogg and Ross. After consideration, Anjali chose Kellogg, a school known for its collaborative culture and entrepreneurial focus.
Drawing from her personal experience, Anjali aspires to contribute to innovative products that improve mental health accessibility and outcomes. Her short-term goal is to join a mental health-focused startup as a product manager, where she can develop a deeper understanding of the industry. In the long term, she aims to launch her own venture to make mental health care more accessible.
