About Jennifer Bloom

Background.

Jennifer has been advising applicants since 1998. That makes her one of the longest-practicing consultants still working today.

Her range is wide. She has helped candidates into the toughest programs in global business education and into obscure doctoral programs across the world. Applicants with an unconventional target, the kind nobody else has advised on, usually end up with her.

She graduated magna cum laude from Columbia. Before moving into admissions full time she worked in financial services and the non-profit sector. She is also a Certified Professional Resume Writer.

Work style.

Jennifer works personally with every applicant. She has done it long enough that clients come back years later to send her their siblings, their colleagues and their friends. Most of her practice comes by referral.

She is strategic from the first conversation. What is this school looking for? What does this applicant have that no one else in the pool does? After two decades she knows which experiences carry weight and which ones do not, and she helps clients get the ones that matter onto the page.

She is also fast. Clients hear back the next business day with line edits and a set of questions meant to push past the easy first version of a story into the detail that sets them apart. As many rounds as it takes.

Working across time zones.

Jennifer has worked with clients writing from more than twenty countries, including India, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, France, the UK, Canada, the US, Dubai, Iraq, Afghanistan, South Africa and Israel.

She is based in Israel, three and a half hours behind India and two hours ahead of London, so she overlaps with the working day on both sides. And because Sunday is a workday in Israel, her clients get a consultant who is available for calls on their weekend.
